As a damp-proofing and waterproofing company we often use “boarding” and “dot and dab” methods to provide a sound surface before skimming. This method will not require the puncturing of studded membrane system.

Damp-proofing can be problematic to diagnose so it is imperative that a conscientious and diligent surveyor is on board to correctly diagnose the reason for damp inside the building. In some instances, it may be an isolated cause.  However, there also could be a mixture of problems such as;

  • Condensation
  • Rising damp through failed or lack of DPC in could pourus walls
  • Building defects which lead to penetrating damp
  • Leaks from water supplies

Where any of the above may be the cause, a qualified surveyor will investigate and use a fault-finding process to establish the root cause of the problem. Upon conclusion, we will contact you with the facts and best approach, whilst providing you with the most cost effective option.

Water ingress will occur in any property where the external ground level is higher than the internal floor level. Water will then pass through voids within the structure or material, and defects within the structure. This is due to the external ground level bearing against the structure, creating a head of water pressure which tries to equalise in the internal side of the property.

Our waterproofing work can transform a once inhabitable space into a beautiful home which can be used for a variety of different things e.g. bedrooms, cinema rooms, wine cellars, laundry rooms or underground swimming pools. The conversion of uninhabitable spaces has become highly desirable as this often brings a lot of attention and interest to properties when selling. This can also add a great deal of value to your property.
